Wow! What a remarkable morning we had at school this morning for our triathlon. I was so impressed by the way RSS and particularly e9 displayed striving for excellence when competing. Well done team - you are incredible!

Seed 2 Table!
We had our very first S2T session today and it was awesome! All of our practice at working as a TEAM has paid off! Here are some photos of our experience (sorry I didn't get out to the garden!). There are some reflective questions at the end so you can have a discussion with your child about. Thank you very much to the awesome parents who made this day run smoothly!
Analyzing our 2-feet jump
Here is a video I took yesterday of e9 exploring 2-feet jumping. I notice that successful jumps do something with their arms... can you write a comment about what you think it is?

Co-operative Learning: Whakawhanaungatanga
Kia ora, we have been learning about how to work together as a team. Our first activity was to create a Puppet Pals movie about Place Value. We found out that teams worked best when:
- everyone took turns,
- everyone got to share their ideas
- some people took lead but weren't bossy
- everyone sat nicely around the iPad in the middle.
Unfortunately, there were a lot of people who showed un-cooperative behaviours during the first session. However, after reflecting on our actions we had a much more productive cooperative activity.

Home Learning Week 3
Kia ora whanau! Here is the homelearning for week 3:
Here are the spelling words for the week: your child should know which list they are on. If you are in the lists at the bottom, you need to choose 10 words from the 30.
Here is an example of Caitlin's CV from last year. She won the position of the Tui houseleader.
Good luck year 6s!
Class treaty
Kia ora! We have completed our class treaty for 2013! Man it's going to be an amazing year if we remember our promises.

What we're learning in swimming
Let's analyse our swimming team! We should have:
- straight legs, pointed toes and kick from our bums,
- smooth arm strokes with fingers together,
- heads still with chins tucked in

Book expectations
Haha! What our books should definitely not look like! We had a pretty fun time coming up with these! Can you guess all of them?

Watch by Frank Outlaw
As part of our Learning Community unit, today we examined the meaning of the poem "Watch". It has a powerful meaning where the power of your thoughts has impact in everything in your life. We talked a bit about how some bad habits can be hard to break. Our goal is to 'watch our thoughts' and make sure we think positively.
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act, but a habit.”
– Aristotle
